The Goshen Common Council passed Ordinance 5265, Amend Animal Control Ordinance, on June 22, 2026. Mayor Gina Leichty approved and adopted the ordinance on June 22, 2026.
Ordinance 5265 amends Goshen City Code Title 3, Article 1, Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, which regulate animals running at large; animals exposed to disease; keeping livestock, fowl or wild animals; harboring vicious animals; animals disturbing the peace; noxious odors from animals; securing animals; and the impoundment, redemption and disposition of unredeemed animals.
The ordinance also addresses required rabies vaccination of an impounded dog before its release.
