UPDATE: 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 29 — Following successful water testing, the following precautionary boil water adversory has been lifted.

GOSHEN, Ind. — A precautionary boil water advisory is in effect for several areas of Goshen following a water main break.

City crews have repaired the water main break and restored water service. The Goshen Water Department is awaiting water quality testing results before lifting the advisory.

Boil Water Advisory Remains in Effect

The boil water advisory affects:

  • 410 W. Plymouth Ave.
  • 112-304 W. Plymouth Ave.
  • 100 block of Canal St.
  • 905-1019 Wilson Ave.
  • Area between W. Plymouth Avenue and Burdick Street

The City issues boil water advisories whenever water service is interrupted or water pressure is reduced during repairs. The advisory is a precautionary measure while the Water Department verifies water quality.

Residents in the affected area should bring all water used for drinking and cooking to a rolling boil for at least five minutes before use. Customers should continue boiling water until the City announces that the advisory has been lifted.

Water remains safe for showering and flushing toilets during the advisory.

Goshen Water and Sewer conducts water quality testing before lifting a boil water advisory. Two sets of samples are collected and tested 24 hours apart. The advisory will be lifted after both sets confirm the water meets safety standards.

The City will provide an update in this post when testing is complete and the boil water advisory has been lifted.
