What to Know About Goshen Spring Brush Pickup

GOSHEN, Ind. — The City of Goshen will begin its Goshen Spring brush and leaf pickup April 27 through May 8, launching a citywide effort that typically completes two passes through neighborhoods during a two-week window.

Street Department crews will collect brush and leaves from Monday, April 27 through May 8, making two passes through the city. Residents should place materials at the curb before 7 a.m. April 27 or May 4 to ensure pickup during the Spring brush and leaf collection period.

Goshen spring brush pickup guidelines

Place all materials at the curb, not in the street. Keep piles clear of fire hydrants, mailboxes, poles and alleys. Crews cannot collect brush blocked by vehicles or mixed with trash.

Rules for brush piles

• Separate brush from leaves and keep piles free of debris
• Maximum size: 5 feet high, 5 feet deep and 10 feet long
• Branches must measure 6 inches or less in diameter
• No alley pickup
• Do not mix brush with leaf piles or trash
• No brush pickup occurs October through March

Contractor responsibility

Residents who hire contractors for landscaping or tree work must ensure those contractors remove all debris. The city does not collect contractor-generated brush.

Brush trailer option

The city offers a year-round brush trailer program, weather permitting, for residents who cannot meet curbside requirements.

The spring collection remains one of the city’s largest coordinated service efforts. Crews move through neighborhoods in sequence, and residents should not expect a specific pickup day within the two-week window.

Monthly brush-only pickup begins May 25 and continues the last Monday of each month through September. Residents should place brush at the curb by 7 a.m. on collection day.
