GOSHEN, Ind. — The annual Goshen Memorial Day Parade brought veterans, families and community groups together Monday morning for ceremonies honoring military members who died in service to the United States.
Residents gathered at Powerhouse Park, the Historic Elkhart County Courthouse lawn and Oakridge Cemetery throughout the morning. American flags lined downtown sidewalks as veterans groups, scouts and civic organizations moved through the city during the annual parade.
Goshen Memorial Day Parade draws community remembrance
The morning began with a waterfront wreath service at Powerhouse Park near the Goshen Farmers Market and Elkhart River.
Following a courthouse ceremony, the downtown parade traveled north on Main Street before concluding at Oakridge Cemetery for a final remembrance ceremony and military honors.
George Buckmaster, commander of Goshen VFW Post 985, served as master of ceremonies. Wayne Hawn served as parade marshal, while retired U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Victoria Molnar delivered the featured remarks along with Mayor Gina Leichty.
