GOSHEN, Ind. — The Goshen City Court relocation is complete, and court services will reopen at Goshen’s Historic Downtown Courthouse in on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.
Goshen City Court, Goshen City Probation and the Goshen City Clerk’s Office are now located at the Historic Downtown Courthouse, 101 N. Main St., Suite 105, Goshen, IN 46526.
The offices reopened following a temporary closure that allowed staff to complete the move from the Police & Courts Building, 111 E. Jefferson St.
The City is leasing space from Elkhart County following the opening of the county’s new courthouse campus. County offices and City departments now share portions of the historic building as part of its next chapter of public service.
The move places court operations in a dedicated courthouse setting while creating additional space at the Police & Courts Building for evidence storage and management.
Goshen City Court relocation improves public access
City Court, Probation and the Clerk’s Office occupy the southern portion of the courthouse’s lower level.
Public access is available through the north entrance facing Clinton Street. ADA-accessible entry is available at the same location, and elevators provide access to all public areas within the building.
Parking is available around the perimeter of the courthouse property.
Goshen City Court is typically in session Monday and Thursday mornings beginning at 8:30 a.m. Traffic Court is held on the third Wednesday of each month. Session times may vary depending on case loads.
The City Court Clerk’s Office is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Goshen City Probation is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Court operations temporarily closed Thursday, June 4, to allow staff to complete the transition. No hearings, probation appointments or other court proceedings were scheduled during the move. The court will not issue failure-to-appear warrants or body attachments related to the closure period, and no one will face penalties or jail time because of inconveniences caused by the relocation.
Historic Courthouse continues public service mission
Constructed between 1868 and 1870, Goshen’s Historic Downtown Courthouse served as the center of Elkhart County government and justice system for more than 150 years.
Today, the building continues its public service mission by housing a combination of county and municipal offices.
The City and County plan to host a public open house at a later date in coordination with ongoing County office improvements and renovations within the building.
