Warsaw Housing Authority Goshen partnership expands housing access
The Warsaw Housing Authority Goshen partnership expands access to affordable housing and local support services for residents. Through this partnership, the Housing Authority administers the Housing Choice Voucher Program for Goshen residents and provides local, in-person support to reduce barriers such as transportation and access to services.
Residents who observe open enrollment opportunities or need rental assistance support can work directly with the Warsaw Housing Authority to access these programs.
Warsaw Housing Authority Goshen partnership
To improve accessibility for Goshen residents, the Warsaw Housing Authority now offers in-person appointments and accepts pre-applications at the The Salvation Army.
Staff are available by appointment:
- First, second, and third Tuesdays of each month
- 8:30 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Goshen Housing Choice Voucher participants can also complete annual recertifications locally during these times, reducing the need to travel to Milford.
This expanded access reflects the City’s investment in meeting residents where they are and removing common barriers to housing stability.
Rental assistance and supportive services
The Warsaw Housing Authority administers the federal Housing Choice Voucher Program, which helps low-income families, seniors, and residents with disabilities secure safe and affordable housing.
In partnership with the City of Goshen, the agency also provides services not funded through federal programs, including:
- Rental Education classes covering budgeting, tenant rights, and lease expectations
- Deposit assistance to help residents secure housing
- Landlord incentives to increase available housing options
- Local recertification meetings and outreach support
These locally funded services create a pathway to long-term housing stability and self-sufficiency for Goshen residents.
Supporting housing stability in Goshen
The partnership addresses growing housing challenges, including rising rental costs and increased demand for affordable units. The Housing Authority maintains an open waitlist, allowing residents to apply year-round and ensuring equitable access to assistance.
Additional efforts include partnerships with local organizations to support young adults aging out of foster care, helping prevent homelessness and promote independence.
City funding supports direct assistance, education, and outreach efforts that strengthen housing stability across the community.
